At this point, it’s been about eight months since Anheuser Busch InBev’s Bud Light made a complete fool of themselves and lost the respect of nearly the entire world. You’d think that would be long enough that most would have forgotten about their betrayal and partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
But a recent ad proves this is far from over – even NFL legends such as Peyton Manning and Emmitt Smith can’t change that.
If you haven’t seen the ad, it was promoted on social media beginning on December 1. Former Indianapolis Colts, then Denver Bronchos quarterback, and easily one of the most beloved greats in the game of football, Peyton Manning, was seen in the ad.
Alongside him is Emmitt Smith, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys and arguably one of the all-time best running backs in the sport’s history.
In the ad, Manning walks, orders a Bud Light, and then changes his mind and buys a round for everyone. This proceeds into Manning literally throwing beer cans to various individuals around the room, one of which happens to be Emmitt Smith.
Ordering a round of Bud Light’s never looked easier to enjoy, thanks to Peyton Manning & Emmitt Smith
And now, when you post on social with #ScoreASeat & #Sweepstakes, that same Bud Light could send you to Super Bowl LVIII. Learn more here: https://t.co/U5p2ljj3Xj pic.twitter.com/a2VaNekpy8

Basically, it just shows a couple of greats having a good time, making new friends, and, of course, enjoying Bud Light. Notably, neither is seen actually drinking the beverage. Just throwing them around.
In any case, the ad isn’t of any great worth, although, undoubtedly, it’s meant to show that even the greats still find the shamed beer enjoyable.
However, it would seem that even with the presence of both Manning and Smith, many are just not willing to forgive and forget Bud Light’s grievous transgression just yet.
Still not drinking

More than a few simply commented, “Still not drinking.”
The company tried to rectify this, even responding to one comment and noting that, “When you change your mind, we’ll have a cold one ready for you.”
But this only made things worse…
You could give it to me for free & I still won't drink it.

Bud Light may still find a way to recover. But one thing is pretty clear: it won’t matter which celebrity they team up with. Oh, and it won’t be any time soon.
