AOC Slams Trump: Accuses Him Of Wanting To Throw Her In Jail And Calling Him Out Of His Mind

Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently made headlines with her comments during a podcast interview, where she suggested that former President Donald Trump might try to imprison her. During her conversation with tech journalist Kara Swisher, AOC expressed her concerns, stating, “I mean, it sounds nuts, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy threw me in jail.”

Ocasio-Cortez, never one to shy away from hyperbole, doubled down on her anxiety, declaring, “He’s out of his mind.” In her typical flair for the dramatic, she invoked Trump’s infamous 2016 rallying cry, “Lock her up,” aimed at Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. Despite the mountain of classified documents found on Clinton’s private server, the FBI, led by James Comey, chose not to pursue charges.

In contrast, Trump is currently facing charges related to the retention of classified documents despite having had the authority to declassify them as president. Meanwhile, AOC is wringing her hands over an imaginary scenario where she’s thrown into the slammer under a Trump regime. It seems her flair for melodrama knows no bounds. Her concerns are less about genuine legal threats and more about her penchant for playing the perpetual victim. One might wonder if she’s auditioning for a role in a political thriller rather than serving in Congress.

Ocasio-Cortez emphasized her belief in Trump’s threats: “I take him at his word when he says that he’s going to round up people. I take him at his word when he threatens journalists.” She suggested that Trump’s first term was just a prelude to more aggressive actions if he were to return to office.

However, it’s worth examining the validity of AOC’s claims. Trump has not made any statements about imprisoning political opponents like Ocasio-Cortez without cause. His focus has primarily been on investigating the Biden family’s overseas dealings, which he mentioned in an interview with Sean Hannity, stating that pursuing such probes would be detrimental to democracy.

While AOC is preoccupied with the fantastical notion of Donald Trump personally locking her up, perhaps she should redirect her attention to the pressing issues plaguing her own backyard in New York. Violence and homelessness are on the rise, painting a stark reality that demands her immediate attention and action. But hey, who needs to tackle real problems when there are delusions of persecution to indulge in, right?
