Nancy Pelosi Loses It After This January 6th Question

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was caught on camera losing her temper after being asked why she refused to authorize the National Guard to protect the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

As Pelosi exited a press event, reporter Alison Steinberg from LindellTV called out, “Congresswoman Pelosi, are you at all concerned that the new January 6 Committee will find you liable for that day? Are you at all concerned about the new January 6 Committee finding you liable for that day?”

Steinberg followed up with, “Why did you refuse the National Guard on January 6?”

Pelosi stopped, turned around, and lashed out.

“Shut up,” Pelosi said as she pointed her finger toward the reporter. “I did not refuse the National Guard, the President didn’t send it. Why are you coming here with Republican talking points as if you’re a serious journalist?”

The outburst came just months after Pelosi again blamed President Trump for not deploying troops to secure the Capitol, despite evidence showing his administration had offered help before the riot.

“On January 6th, with violence against the Constitution, against the Congress, and against the United States Capitol, we begged the President of the United States to send in the National Guard,” Pelosi said at a press conference earlier this year. “He would not do it.”

But records show otherwise. Breitbart News reported that Trump had, in fact, offered the National Guard to Pelosi and Washington’s Democrat mayor before the protest. Both offers were refused.

Trump’s offer came amid warnings of potential unrest. Democrats rejected it, fearing political backlash after spending the previous summer condemning Trump for deploying the Guard during violent BLM riots.

In the months following January 6, Pelosi oversaw the installation of barbed wire fencing and thousands of National Guard troops around the Capitol — after the damage was already done.

Pelosi’s claim that Trump ignored her requests was contradicted again by video evidence obtained by the House Administration Committee in 2024.

Chairman Barry Loudermilk said, “As Nancy Pelosi was being evacuated from the Capitol on January 6, 2021, she admitted that, as Speaker of the House, she was responsible for the security failures, and for not having the National Guard at the Capitol.”

The video, filmed by Pelosi’s daughter Alexandra and released by HBO, captured Pelosi saying, “We have responsibility, Terry. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have.”

Pelosi continued, “I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for war.”

In the clip, she also questioned aloud why the National Guard wasn’t already in position that morning.

That private admission now stands in stark contrast to her public statements blaming Trump.

When asked directly about her decision this week, Pelosi didn’t attempt an explanation — she simply lashed out.

Her reaction, captured on camera, has renewed criticism from lawmakers demanding accountability for what many see as one of the biggest security failures in modern U.S. history.

Despite repeated denials, Pelosi’s own words on film may soon play a larger role in the new congressional investigation — one that appears determined to uncover what really happened before the Capitol was breached.
