Trump Welcomes an Unexpected VIP to the White House

Imagine being a regular guy from Florida. A U.S. Navy veteran. You’ve got a great wife, a normal life, and a patriotic heart full of love for your country and its president. Then suddenly, your little brother—yes, your brother—gets elected pope.

That’s not a political metaphor or some Hollywood movie pitch. That’s real life for Louis Prevost, a diehard Trump supporter who just watched his brother become the first U.S.-born pope in history—then got a front-row seat to the Vatican’s most historic moment in decades.

Prevost was right there in the thick of it during the inaugural Mass at the Vatican. He sat shoulder-to-shoulder with Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha. Behind them sat Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his wife. And when it came time for the U.S. delegation to meet Pope Leo XIV, Prevost—who’s been vocal about his support for Trump—was front and center.

Vice President Vance gave the pope a heartfelt letter from President Trump and First Lady Melania, officially inviting His Holiness to the White House. There was also a Chicago Bears jersey and two classic theological texts by St. Augustine, personal gifts from the VP to the new pope.

So what do you do after a whirlwind trip to Rome as part of the American delegation to the Vatican?

You go to the White House.

Prevost and his wife Deborah were invited by President Trump himself. According to staffers, Trump loved the story—a patriotic American family, one son in the military, the other now head of the Catholic Church. Trump reportedly told aides he wanted to “give that guy a big hug.”

And he did.

Prevost was welcomed to the Oval Office by President Trump and Vice President Vance, and even got a private tour of Congress, including the historic Lincoln Room, where he met Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA).

For a “MAGA-type” Florida man, it doesn’t get more incredible than this: shaking hands with the president and embracing the pope—all within a matter of days.

Not long ago, Louis Prevost was just another proud American veteran. Now he’s living proof of how faith, family, and patriotism can take you places you never imagined.

In a time when America is being pulled in every direction by radicals trying to erase its traditions and undermine its values, stories like this one remind us of what still makes this country exceptional.

One week you’re attending Mass at your hometown parish. The next, you’re at the Vatican watching your kid brother become pope—and soon after, you’re inside the Oval Office being personally thanked by the president of the United States.

Only in America.

And under President Donald J. Trump, stories like this feel a little more possible.
