With the Trump-era Title 42 officially ended, everyone wants to know how the border and our ongoing immigration crisis is. For Democratic President Joe Biden, he wants you to know that he’s smarter than you and that he’s a success story, despite what the evidence to the contrary reveals.
Comments from Biden on the situation at the border came on Sunday when he was just returning from a bike ride near his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. According to Fox News, a reporter asked him, “How do you think things are going at the border, sir?”
Biden smugly looked at the reporter and said, “Much better than you all expected.” Then he chuckled.
To be clear, it’s not exactly a good look for Biden or anyone for that matter.
First of all, it’s noted that Biden is on vacation once again. While Americans struggle to make ends meet due to rising inflation, home costs, and grocery prices, Biden is taking a break. During a time with unprecedented national security and border issues, Biden is found away from his job and getting a little R&R.
Secondly, implying that the American people underestimated him and his administration or that we could never understand how things work is more than a bit insulting.
And lastly, his words aren’t exactly an admittance that things are getting any better.
As we all know by now, the situation at our southern border has only worsened since Biden essentially dropped all known immigration regulations and invited the world to enter at will. The nixing of Title 42 is just the latest example of this. And one that has tens of thousands of migrants waiting at the border in tent camps until they can cross freely into our communities and neighborhoods.
Even democrats and blue city leaders decry Biden’s border policies as utter failures.
And yet, Biden has the audacity and tone deafness to gloat about his not-so-apparent success. If there’s anything we can get from this, he doesn’t care about you or me.
