During an interview on CNN’s “The Lead,” Rep. Nancy Pelosi launched into an angry rant against President Donald Trump, calling him “the worst thing on the face of the Earth.”

Pelosi’s outburst came when she was asked about her opinion of the president’s leadership and legacy.

She said, “He’s just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the Earth. But anyway.”

CNN correspondent Elex Michaelson pressed her to clarify her statement.

“You think he’s the worst thing on the face of the Earth?” Michaelson asked.

Pelosi replied, “I do, yeah. I do.”

When Michaelson asked why, Pelosi accused President Trump of undermining the Constitution and threatening democracy.

She said, “Because he’s the president of the United States, and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. In fact, he’s turned the Supreme Court into a rogue court. He’s abolished the House of Representatives. He’s chilled the press. He’s scared people who are in our country legally.”

The outburst reflected Pelosi’s deep frustration as Trump continues to dominate headlines and maintain strong approval among Republican voters. Her comments came just days after the president’s highly publicized interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” where he defended his immigration and economic policies.

Pelosi’s remarks also came as speculation grows about her political future. She was asked if she plans to seek reelection or retire after decades in Congress.

Michaelson asked, “I know you’ve said you won’t talk about your future until after Prop 50, but there is speculation about what you’re going to do next. Can you talk to us about what the thought process is? How do you weigh the personal and the political?”

Pelosi tried to deflect but admitted that the rumors have worked in her favor.

She said, “Well, first of all, when people start, as in the press, speculating, is she going to run? Is she not going to run? Other people file or say they’re going to run, you know what that does? That gives me so much support. People calling me saying, I’m for you.”

Pelosi has faced mounting pressure within her own party as new progressive candidates eye her seat and moderates distance themselves from her brand of politics. Her attacks on Trump, however, remain a consistent theme of her public appearances.

While Pelosi continues to frame Trump as a threat to American institutions, the president’s allies argue that her rhetoric only energizes his base. Trump himself has largely ignored Pelosi’s personal attacks in recent months, focusing instead on his administration’s agenda to strengthen the economy, rebuild border security, and reform the justice system.

Despite her harsh words, Pelosi’s comments underscore the growing tension within the Democratic Party over how to handle Trump’s political resurgence. Her interview quickly spread across social media, with clips going viral as both supporters and critics reacted to her language.

For many Americans watching, the exchange was another reminder of how deep the partisan divide remains. As the 2025 political season heats up, Pelosi’s fiery tone may please some on the left — but for millions of conservative voters, it’s just more proof of how far Democrats are willing to go to attack President Trump.
