Deputy Mayor’s EV Stolen in the Middle of a City Council Meeting
Crime in large American cities has exploded ever since the George Floyd Summer of Love Riots caused billions of dollars in damages and got many people killed. Don’t let them try to gaslight you about this. Crime is way up. In the city of Auburn, WA, the Deputy Mayor just had her electric car stolen during a city council meeting.
Auburn is a wealthy, affluent, far-left suburb of Seattle where 74% of adults cast their ballots for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. After the George Floyd riots, Auburn’s city leaders voted to defund the police as all Good People were instructed to do. Deputy Mayor Cheryl Rakes just found out the hard way that that was a dumb idea.
Rakes went inside to attend the city council meeting the week before Christmas. Less than an hour later, four kids stole her electric Kia Soul. Rakes discovered that her EV had become a victim of Diversity—Our Greatest Strength.
The young teenage carjackers damaged the ignition on the vehicle to get it started. They probably learned how to do that on TikTok. They abandoned the EV several blocks away because everyone knows that EVs suck. The carjackers must not have been able to find a Dodge Charger.
Even though the remaining police in Auburn were quickly able to find the Deputy Mayor’s EV and return it to her, she completely missed the point. She thanked the officers for returning her car, noting what a great job they were doing. It doesn’t seem to have occurred to her that if Auburn city officials hadn’t defunded the police four years ago, her dopey little electric car might not have been stolen in the first place.
